My Blog Has a New Home!

Courtesy of 1947Project

One of my goals for 2013 was to transfer the domain and content of my website to a new host.  That has been done, and now I can self-host my blog with WordPress.

I've been using Blogger for over 2 years and it has become like an old friend - glitches and all.  I will hate to go ... I also hate that my number of subscribers and followers will start back at zero.

But there comes a time in our lives when we have to move on, as hard as it is, because we are headed toward something better.

So, after today, my blog can be found here.

Thanks to everyone who has subscribed/followed me for the past 2 years - I certainly hope you'll come visit me at my new place!

P.S. I'll keep this blog active indefinitely in case cousins need to find me - but no new posts will appear after today.

I checked out your new home - looks nice! But I can't figure out how to follow you......

Debi, that's one drawback when using WordPress - no "follow" button :( However, you can subscribe by email on the left-hand side of my blog ... OR ... but if you're using Google Reader, you can copy/paste "" into the subscribe window, or use the subscribe button, if you've put that on your toolbar.

Good luck in your new home, I will add via Google Reader, but, have to say, I really do NOT like that part of Word Press at all. Plus I have had any number of issues trying to leave comments on Word Press blogs, sometimes just giving up and moving on.

Thanks Carol! I agree with you on WP and Reader not playing nicely together, but you'll be happy to know that even though I do moderate my comments, I WILL NOT require that anyone decipher a captcha code in order to leave a comment. I just hate those things.

So, the real question is Jenny, why is there no perfect blog format?? LOL

I have captcha too, and have it on my blog(s). The porn I was getting, went from 1 a day to 20 an hour over night. They have my addy, cause I can turn it off and that nonsense starts right back up.

I cannot deal with the porn, so I loose comments. Lucky for me, several of my faithful readers who have issues with their eyes have forgiven me. SIGHHH

Happy writing!

Did all your comments come with your blog posts from blogger? I am contemplating the same thing. What about all the old links in one of your blog posts about another of your blog posts?

Carol - if you find the answer to that question, let me know :) Apparently my blog isn't popular enough to get all the porn spam, so I guess I'm lucky in that regard.

Pat - Yes, comments got imported over to WordPress - links and images made the move too. However, the links are not automatically updated to reflect the move - which I why I'm leaving my original blog active. At least for now.
